Education and Support Offered:
Evening support group for families meets at 6:00-8:00 p.m., mainly second and fourth Tuesdays at Hawkeye Community College, Metro Campus, 844 W. Fourth St., Room 228, Waterloo.
Daytime Support Group (for those with mental illness and their families) meets at 2-3:30 p.m. mainly on the second and fourth Thursdays at Waterloo Center for the Arts, 225 Commercial St., Waterloo (entrance with metal canopy; 2nd floor Rotary Room).
Educational Program offered at 7 p.m. first Tuesday of the following months – March, April, May, June, September, October, and November in the basement parlor of First Congregational Church, 608 W 4th St., Waterloo.
Changes can occur – please contact the office to subscribe to their newsletter or emails to be sure of class date. There are other classes offered. Newsletter and emails will always have a calendar of classes.

Every Thursday – 6:30 – 7:30 pm – Family Support group meets at the NAMI-JC office (220 Lafayette St). Class is facilitated by family members, who are trained in facilitating support meetings, but are NOT professional counselors. The meetings are now open to all families who are concerned about a family member who is experiencing mental illness.
